Wednesday Night Teaching Series—7:30pm, Chapel, Begins April 19th

The Enriched Life—Empowered, Enlarged, Elevated is a 13 week Wednesday night series.  Pastor Wood will preach with the ministry team. This will be a verse by verse exposition of Ephesians.  Thorough analysis of the implications of the resurrection and the ascension.  This preaching-study will be transformational.

Bowling League

League starts Sunday April 23rd at 7:15pm.  If you are interested or already registered for the league  held at Waldorf AMF bowling lanes, meet Sports Ministry directors Chris Coleman and Geral Holt in the banquet hall after service today for a brief meeting. Rules and fees will be shared.

Cupcakes & Canvas – Fundraiser, Friday, April 28, 2017 7:30-10:00pm

Exodus Youth Ministry will be hosting an evening to relax, enjoy sweet treats and paint.   Get ready to display your artistic talents with your paintbrush!  Lots of delicious desserts will be served.  See Pastor Dana or the youth ministry team to get your tickets or pay online via our church web page.  Use PayPal, select youth event from the drop down menu.  Donate $50 per person.  Fee defrays cost of youth trip this summer.

National Day of Prayer—Thursday, May 4, Noon

Meet in the chapel for intercessory prayer service. The theme is “For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us… Forgive Us…Heal Us!” taken from Daniel 9:19, which says, “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God…”. Thousands of individuals, churches, and communities will be working to rally millions of Christian’s to once again heed this call! 

Mother’s Day – May 14, 2017

Honor all  the mother’s on May 14, 2017.  Hear a special Mother’s Day sermon that will fill your heart and remind us of the beautiful blessing in mother’s! All mothers in attendance receive a special gift.

Baptism—Sunday, June 9, 8am service RESCHEDULED

If you would like to be baptized during the 8am service, please call the office for instructions on what to bring with you.  We have a separate baptism service for children receiving First Communion on May 21st.

Baby Dedication, First Communion and Baptism, Membership Orientation—May 21, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm

This is a super Sunday at Calvary Gospel Church!  If you have a baby to be dedicated at 4pm, please call the office with the required information: name of baby, date of birth, city of birth, dedicating parents.  Parents interested in having their child (school age) receive their first communion and baptism at 5pm, must register their child in the Children’s Church Department.  Membership Orientation follows in the banquet hall at 6pm for those interested in joining the church.  Membership service follows the next Sunday at 10:30am.

Youth Ministry Class, Wednesdays, 7:30pm

Pastor Dana Coleman will be teaching the teen class in a 12 week study called, “What On Earth Am I Here For?” If you know a teen, ages 12-18, invite them to attend this life changing teaching series. Help our young people get grounded in the Word of God instead of the word on the street!

Family Life Center Summer Camp, Jun.19-Aug. 18, 6:30am – 6:30pm

Nursery Staff Needed

If you are age 15 and up, we have an opportunity for you! If you love little children and would like to earn some extra money, see Nursery Director April Cave today for an application. Nursery is open on Sundays and Wednesdays during service and also for special services.


Welcome Desk Volunteers Wanted

If you can smile, greet visitors and be willing to provide information about our church, we need you twice a month (10:30 service) to work at our information booth in the foyer. Contact fpulliam1@verizon.net for questions or additional information.

Food Pantry—First and Third Thursdays, Noon-2:00pm

Thank you to everyone who has kept our food pantry stocked this year! If you wish to donate items, we are always in particular need of canned meat and protein products, such as ham, tuna, and peanut butter. Cereal is also usually in short supply. This is a great outreach to the community each month!


Soup and Salad Bible Study—Thursdays, 10am—noon

Are you off for the summer? Join our Soup and Salad fellowship group every week in the banquet hall for Bible Study and fellowship! Stay for lunch too!
